✧ The killing of Ammar ᴿᴬ at Siffin and his statement ﷺ 'Ammar will be killed by the transgressing party'

قَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ، عَنْ أَبِي التَّيَّاحِ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي الْهُذَيْلِ قَالَ:

إِنَّ عَمَّارَ بْنَ يَاسِرٍ ؓ كَانَ رَجُلًا ضَابِطًا، وَكَانَ يَحْمِلُ حَجَرَيْنِ حَجَرَيْنِ، فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَتَلَقَّاهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَدَفَعَ فِي صَدْرِهِ، فَقَامَ يَنْفُضُ التُّرَابَ عَنْ رَأْسِهِ، وَيَقُولُ: وَيْحَكَ يَا ابْنَ سُمَيَّةَ، تَقْتُلُكَ الْفِئَةُ الْبَاغِيَةُ

Translation

✧ Indeed, 'Ammar b. Yasir ؓ was a strong, capable man. He used to carry two stones at a time. The Prophet ﷺ heard of this, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ met him and pushed him in the chest. He stood up brushing the dust from his head, and he said: 'Woe to you, O Ibn Sumayyah! The transgressing party will kill you.'
