✧ A casket was brought to Umar b. al-Khattab ؓ. Most of his companions examined it but did not recognize its value. He said, 'Do you permit me to send it to Aisha ؓ, because of the love the Messenger of God ﷺ had for her?' They said, 'Yes.' It was brought to Aisha ؓ and she opened it. It was said, 'This is what Umar b. al-Khattab ؓ sent to you.' She said ؓ, 'What has Ibn al-Khattab opened for me after the Messenger of God ﷺ? O God, do not keep me alive for next year's gift.'
