قَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ: حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْفُرَاتِ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ الضَّحَّاكِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ، قَالَ:

إِنَّ قُرَيْشًا كَانَتْ نُورًا بَيْنَ يَدَيِ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَخْلُقَ آدَمَ بِأَلْفَيْ عَامٍ، يُسَبِّحُ ذَلِكَ النُّورُ فَتُسَبِّحُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ بِتَسْبِيحِهِ، فَلَمَّا خَلَقَ اللهُ آدَمَ جَعَلَ ذَلِكَ النُّورَ فِي صُلْبِهِ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: فَأَهْبَطَهُ اللهُ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ فِي صُلْبِ آدَمَ، فَجَعَلَهُ فِي صُلْبِ نُوحٍ فِي السَّفِينَةِ، وَقُذِفَ فِي النَّارِ فِي صُلْبِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَلَمْ يَزَلْ يَنْقُلُنِي مِنْ أَصْلَابِ الْكِرَامِ إِلَى الْأَرْحَامِ، حَتَّى أَخْرَجَنِي مِنْ بَيْنِ أَبَوَيَّ، لَمْ يَلْتَقِيَا عَلَى سِفَاحٍ قَطُّ

✧ Quraysh was a light before Allah, Mighty and Majestic, two thousand years before He created Adam. That light glorified Allah, and the angels glorified with its glorification. When Allah created Adam, He placed that light in his loins. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Then Allah brought it down to the earth in the loins of Adam, and placed it in the loins of Nuh in the ark, and it was cast into the fire in the loins of Ibrahim. He kept transferring me from the loins of the noble to the wombs, until He brought me out from between my parents. They never met in fornication.'
