✧ The beginnings of the Prophet ﷺ and the nobility of his lineage

قَالَ: وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ: أَشْهَدُ عَلَى أَبِي أَنَّهُ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ ؓ، قَالَ: إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ:

خَرَجْتُ مِنْ نِكَاحٍ، وَلَمْ أَخْرُجْ مِنْ سِفَاحٍ، مِنْ لَدُنْ آدَمَ إِلَى أَنْ وَلَدَنِي أَبِي وَأُمِّي، فَلَمْ يُصِبْنِي مِنْ سِفَاحِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ شَيْءٌ

Translation

✧ I came from a legitimate marriage, not from fornication, from Adam until my father and mother begot me. Nothing of the fornication of the pre-Islamic era ever touched me.
