قَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، ثَنَا ابْنُ حَنْظَلَةَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ جَدِّي حَنْظَلَةَ، يَقُولُ:
قَالَ أَبِي حَنِيفَةُ بْنُ حِذْيَمٍ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنِّي رَجُلٌ ذُو بَنِينَ، وَهَذَا أَخَصُّ بَنِيَّ فَسَمِّتْ عَلَيْهِ، فَقَالَ ﷺ: يَا غُلَامُ - وَأَخَذَ بِيَدِي وَمَسَحَ رَأْسِي - بَارَكَ اللهُ فِيكَ. قَالَ: فَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ حَنْظَلَةَ بْنَ حِذْيَمٍ ؓ يُؤْتَى بِالْإِنْسَانِ الْوَارِمِ، فَيَضَعُ يَدَهُ عَلَيْهِ، فَيَقُولُ: بِاسْمِ اللهِ، فَيَذْهَبُ الْوَرَمُ.
Translation

✧ My father Hanifah ibn Hudhaym said: "O Messenger of Allah, I am a man with many sons, and this is the dearest of my sons to me, so bless him." He ﷺ said: "O boy" - and he took my hand and wiped my head - "may Allah bless you." He said: I indeed saw Hanzalah ibn Hudhaym ؓ being brought a person with a swelling, and he would place his hand on it and say: "In the name of Allah," and the swelling would go away.
