✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ performed Umrah, and there was an agreement between him and the people of Makkah that he would not take anyone out of its people. When the Messenger of God ﷺ completed his Umrah, he left Makkah. The Messenger of God ﷺ passed by the daughter of Hamza b. Abd al-Muttalib ؓ, and she said: O Messenger of God, to whom are you leaving me? He ﷺ did not turn to her because of the pact between him and the people of Makkah. Zayd b. Haritha ؓ passed by her, and she said: To whom are you leaving me? He did not turn to her. Ja'far ؓ passed by her, and she appealed to him, but he did not turn to her. Then Ali b. Abi Talib ؓ passed by her, and she said: O Abu al-Hasan, to whom are you leaving me? Ali ؓ took her and placed her behind Fatima ؓ. When they stopped at the nearest place, Zayd came to Ali ؓ and said: We are more entitled to her than you.
