✧ There was in Madinah a disabled man. He said to his family: Place me on the road of the Messenger of God ﷺ to his mosque. He said: So the disabled man was placed on the road of the Messenger of God ﷺ. Whenever he ﷺ went back and forth to the mosque, he would greet the disabled man. Then the disabled man's family came to take him back, and he said: No, by God, I will not leave this place as long as the Messenger of God ﷺ lives, so build me a hut. They built him a hut, and he remained in it. Whenever the Messenger of God ﷺ passed to the mosque, he would enter the hut and greet the disabled man, and whenever he ﷺ got a bit of food, he would send some to the disabled man. He said: While we were with the Messenger of God ﷺ, a man came and announced the death of the disabled man to him. The Messenger of God ﷺ rose, and we rose with him, until when he drew near the hut, he ﷺ said to his companions: Let no one approach the hut except me. He ﷺ drew near the hut, and there was Jibril (peace and blessings be upon him) sitting by the disabled man. He said: O Messenger of God, if you had not come to us, we would have taken care of him for you. But since you have come, you are more entitled to him. So the Messenger of God ﷺ went to him, washed him with his own hand, shrouded him, prayed over him, and placed him in the grave.
