✧ When this verse in Surat al-Baqarah about the waiting periods of women was revealed, they said: 'There remain waiting periods of women that have not been mentioned: the young, the old whose menstruation has ceased, and those who are pregnant.' So Allah revealed the verse in the shorter Surat al-Nisa': 'And those of your women who have despaired of menstruation, if you doubt, their waiting period is three months, and those who have not menstruated, and those who are pregnant, their term is until they deliver their burden.'
