قَالَ الْحُمَيْدِيُّ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، ثَنَا أَبُو هَارُونَ الْمَدَنِيُّ، قَالَ:
قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أُبَيٍّ ابْنِ سَلُولَ لِأَبِيهِ: وَاللهِ لَا تَدْخُلُ الْمَدِينَةَ أَبَدًا حَتَّى تَقُولَ: رَسُولُ اللهِ الْأَعَزُّ، وَأَنَا الْأَذَلُّ، قَالَ: وَجَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّهُ بَلَغَنِي أَنَّكَ تُرِيدُ أَنْ تَقْتُلَ أَبِي، فَوَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ، مَا تَأَمَّلْتُ وَجْهَهُ قَطُّ هَيْبَةً لَهُ، وَلَئِنْ شِئْتَ أَنْ آتِيَكَ بِرَأْسِهِ لَآتِيَنَّكَ بِهِ ; فَإِنِّي أَكْرَهُ أَنْ أَرَى قَاتِلَ أَبِي
Translation

✧ Abdullah b. Abdullah b. Ubayy b. Salul said to his father: By God, you will never enter Madinah until you say: The Messenger of God is the most honorable, and I am the lowliest. He said: Then he came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: O Messenger of God, it has reached me that you intend to kill my father. By the One who sent you with the truth, I have never looked at his face out of awe of him, and if you wish me to bring you his head, I will bring it to you; but I hate to see the killer of my father.
