✧ The prayer over the child of adultery and the stoned adulterer

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي الْحَكَمُ بْنُ أَبَانَ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عِكْرِمَةَ، مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، يَقُولُ:
قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أُبَيٍّ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ: دَعْنِي أَقْتُلْ أَبِي فَإِنَّهُ يُؤْذِي اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ، قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: لَا تَقْتُلْ أَبَاكَ، ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ ثُمَّ رَجَعَ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ: دَعْنِي أَقْتُلْهُ، فَقَالَ: " لَا تَقْتُلْ أَبَاكَ " ثُمَّ جَاءَ الثَّالِثَةَ، فَقَالَ لَهُ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ قَالَ: فَتَوَضَّأْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ لَعَلِّي أَسْقِيهِ لَعَلَّهُ أَنْ يَلِينَ قَلْبُهُ، قَالَ: فَتَوَضَّأَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَسَقَاهُ إِيَّاهُ، فَقَالَ: سَقَيْتُكَ وَضُوءَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ: سَقَيْتَنِي بَوْلَ أُمِّكَ، قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: فَلَمَّا كَانَ مَرَضُهُ الَّذِي مَاتَ فِيهِ جَاءَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَتَكَلَّمَا بِكَلَامٍ بَيْنَهُمَا، فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ: قَدْ فَهِمْتُ مَا تَقُولُ، امْنُنْ عَلَيَّ فَكَفِّنِّي فِي قَمِيصِكَ هَذَا وَصَلِّ عَلَيَّ، قَالَ: فَكَفَّنَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فِي قَمِيصِهِ ذَلِكَ وَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ، قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ أَيَّ صَلَاةٍ كَانَتْ، وَمَا خَادَعَ مُحَمَّدٌ ﷺ إِنْسَانًا قَطُّ
Translation
✧ Abd Allah b. Abd Allah b. Ubayy said to the Prophet ﷺ: Let me kill my father, for he harms Allah and His Messenger. The Prophet ﷺ said: Do not kill your father. Then he went away, then returned to him and said: Let me kill him. He said: "Do not kill your father." Then he came the third time, and he said the like of that to him. He said: Perform ablution, O Messenger of Allah, so that perhaps I may give him water to drink, perhaps his heart will soften. He said: So the Prophet ﷺ performed ablution and gave him the water. He said: I gave you to drink the ablution water of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said: You gave me to drink your mother's urine. Ibn Abbas said: When his illness in which he died came, the Prophet ﷺ came to him and they spoke words between them. Abd Allah said: I understood what you say; grant me a favor, so shroud me in this shirt of yours and pray over me. He said: So the Prophet ﷺ shrouded him in that shirt of his and prayed over him. Ibn Abbas said: And Allah knows best what prayer it was, and Muhammad ﷺ never deceived any person ever.
