✧ In the Book of God there is a verse that no one before me acted upon, and no one after me will act upon: the verse of confidential talk: 'O you who believe, when you consult the Messenger in private, offer something in charity before your private consultation...' to the end of the verse. He said: I had a dinar which I sold for ten dirhams, and I consulted the Prophet ﷺ privately. Each time I consulted him, I offered a dirham in charity before my private talk. Then it was abrogated, and no one acted upon it. Then it was revealed: 'Are you afraid to offer charities before your private consultation?' to the end of the verse.
