قَالَ الْحَارِثُ ابْنُ أَبِي أُسَامَةَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، ثَنَا طَلْحَةُ هُوَ ابْنُ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ - ؓ قَالَ:

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَمَّا أُخْرِجَ مِنْ مَكَّةَ: إِنِّي لَأَخْرُجُ مِنْكِ، وَإِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُ أَنَّكِ لَأَخْيَرُ بِلَادِ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، وَأَكْرَمُهُ عَلَيْهِ، وَلَوْلَا أَنَّ أَهْلَكِ أَخْرَجُونِي مِنْكِ لَمَا خَرَجْتُ، يَا بَنِي عَبْدِ مَنَافٍ، إِنْ كُنْتُمْ وُلَاةَ هَذَا الْأَمْرِ بَعْدِي فَلَا تَمْنَعُوا طَائِفًا بِبَيْتِ اللهِ تَعَالَى سَاعَةً مِنْ لَيْلٍ أَوْ نَهَارٍ

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said when he was expelled from Makkah: 'I am leaving you, and I know that you are the best of the lands of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, and the most honored to Him. Had your people not expelled me from you, I would not have left. O Banu 'Abd Manaf, if you are the guardians of this matter after me, do not prevent any circumambulator of the House of Allah, Exalted be He, from it for even an hour of night or day.'
