✧ Surah An-Nur

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عِمْرَانَ الْأَخْنَسِيُّ، ثَنَا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، ثَنَا الْكَلْبِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ - ؓ

فِي قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: يُرْسِلُ الرِّيَاحَ فَتُثِيرُ سَحَابًا فَيَبْسُطُهُ فِي السَّمَاءِ كَيْفَ يَشَاءُ وَيَجْعَلُهُ كِسَفًا - يَقُولُ: قِطَعًا، يَجْعَلُ بَعْضَهَا فَوْقَ بَعْضٍ فَتَرَى الْوَدْقَ يَعْنِي: الْمَطَرَ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ خِلالِهِ مِنْ بَيْنِهِ

Translation

✧ Regarding the words of Allah, Mighty and Majestic: 'He sends the winds, and they stir up clouds, then He spreads them in the sky however He wills and makes them fragments' (Quran 30:48) — he said: 'Pieces, He puts some of them above others. Then you see the rain — meaning the downpour — coming out from its midst, from between them.'
