قَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى: حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَجَّاجِ النِّيلِيُّ، ثَنَا صَالِحٌ الْمُرِّيُّ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ بَعْضِ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ. وَعَنْ يَزِيدَ الرَّقَاشِيِّ، وَجَعْفَرِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ زُفَرَ قَالَ: قَالَ بَعْضُ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ:
لَقَدْ طَلَبْتُ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ عُمُرِي فَمَا قَدَرْتُ عَلَيْهَا، قَوْلُ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: وَإِنْ قِيلَ لَكُمُ ارْجِعُوا فَارْجِعُوا وَإِنِّي لَأَسْتَأْذِنُ عَلَى بَعْضِ إِخْوَانِي فَيُقَالُ لِي: ارْجِعْ فَأَرْجِعُ، وَأَنَا قَرِيرُ الْعَيْنِ

✧ I have sought this verse all my life and have not been able to find it: the words of Allah, Mighty and Majestic: 'And when you are told, "Return," then return' (Quran 24:28). Indeed, when I ask permission to enter upon one of my brothers and he says, 'Return,' I do return, and I am content.
