✧ A man from the Jews called Nusabi al-Yahudi came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: “O Muhammad, tell me about the stars that Yusuf saw prostrating to him on the horizon of the sky; what are their names?” The Prophet of Allah ﷺ did not answer him that day with anything. Then Jibril ﷺ came to him and informed him. The Prophet ﷺ sent for Nusabi the Jew and said to him: “Will you submit if I tell you their names?” Then he ﷺ said: “They are Khirban, al-Dhayyal, al-Tariq, al-Lisan, Qayis, Waththab, 'Amudan, al-Faylaq, al-Musabbih, al-Saruh, and Dhu al-Fara'.” He said: Nusabi said: “By Allah, these are their names.” He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “When Yusuf (peace and blessings be upon him) saw them, he related them to his father. His father said to him: ‘It is a scattered matter that Allah will gather together afterward.’” He said: “The sun is his father, and the moon is his mother.”
