وَقَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ: حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرٌ، عَنْ بُرْدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ، عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ نُسَيٍّ، عَنْ غُضَيْفِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ قَالَ:
كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عُمَرَ ؓ: أَنَّ لَنَا جِيرَانًا مِنَ السَّامِرَةِ يَقْرَؤُونَ بَعْضَ التَّوْرَاةِ وَالْإِنْجِيلِ، وَلَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْغَيْبِ، فَمَا تَرَى فِي ذَبَائِحِهِمْ ؟ فَكَتَبَ إِلَيْهِ: إِنْ كَانُوا يَقْرَؤُونَ بَعْضَ التَّوْرَاةِ وَبَعْضَ الْإِنْجِيلِ، وَيَسْبِتُونَ، فَذَبَائِحُهُمْ كَذَبَائِحِ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ
Translation

✧ He wrote to me—meaning Ibn 'Umar ؓ —"We have neighbors from the Samaritans who read some of the Torah and the Gospel, but do not believe in the unseen. What do you think about their slaughtered animals?" So he wrote to him: "If they read some of the Torah and some of the Gospel, and they observe the Sabbath, then their slaughtered animals are like the slaughtered animals of the People of the Book."
