✧ When Uthman ؓ was killed—and he mentioned a hadith in which: Then another stood up and asked him, meaning Ali ؓ: And if a woman fears from her husband contempt or evasion, there is no sin upon them if they make terms of peace between them. He ؓ said: 'About the like of this ask. It is a man who has two wives, and one of them becomes unable or is ugly, so he makes peace with her that he will come to her once every two or three nights.'
