وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ، ثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ثَنَا أَبِي، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ وَنَافِعٌ مَوْلَى ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَا: إِنَّ عَمْرَو بْنَ رَافِعٍ مَوْلَى عُمَرَ ؓ حَدَّثَهُمَا

أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَكْتُبُ الْمَصَاحِفَ فِي عَهْدِ أَزْوَاجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ ؓ قَالَ: فَاسْتَكْتَبَتْنِي حَفْصَةُ ؓ مُصْحَفًا، وَقَالَتْ: إِذَا بَلَغْتَ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ مِنْ سُورَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ فَلَا تَكْتُبْهَا حَتَّى تَأْتِيَنِي بِهَا فَأُمْلِهَا عَلَيْكَ كَمَا حَفِظْتُهَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، فَلَمَّا بَلَغْتُهَا جِئْتُهَا بِالْوَرَقَةِ الَّتِي أَكْتُبُهَا فَقَالَتْ: اكْتُبْ: ( حَافَظُوا عَلَى الصَّلَوَاتِ وَالصَّلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى وَصَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ وَقُومُوا لِلهِ قَانِتِينَ )

✧ He used to write down copies of the Qur'an during the time of the Prophet's ﷺ wives ؓ. He said: Hafsah ؓ asked me to write a copy for her, and she said: "When you reach this verse in Surah Al-Baqarah, do not write it until you come to me, and I will dictate it to you as I memorized it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." When I reached it, I brought her the page I was writing on, and she said: "Write: 'Guard strictly the prayers, and the middle prayer, and the 'Asr prayer, and stand before Allah devoutly obedient.'"
