✧ I was with the Prophet ﷺ and I heard him say: «The Qurʾān will meet its companion on the Day of Resurrection when his grave is split open, like a pale man. It will say: “Do you know me?” He will say to it: “I do not know you.” It will say: “I am your companion, the Qurʾān, who made you thirsty in the midday heat and kept you awake at night. Every trader is after his trade, and today you are after every trade.” He said: Then he will be given sovereignty in his right hand and eternal life in his left, and a crown of dignity will be placed on his head, and his parents will be clothed in two garments that the people of this world could not appraise. They will say: “For what have we earned this?” It will be said: “Because your child took up the Qurʾān.” Then it will be said: “Recite and ascend in the degrees of Paradise and its chambers.” He will continue ascending as long as he recites, whether quickly or in a slow, measured tone.»
