✧ 'Akkaf b. Wada'ah al-Hilali came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The Messenger ﷺ said to him: 'O 'Akkaf, do you have a wife?' He said: 'No...' — the hadith, and in it: 'They are the companions of Yusuf, Dawud, and Karsaf.' He said: 'What is Karsaf, O Messenger of Allah?' He said ﷺ: 'A man among the Children of Israel on one of the seashores, fasting by day and standing in prayer by night, never slackening in prayer and fasting. Then after that he disbelieved in Allah the Almighty because of a woman he fell in love with, and he abandoned the worship of his Lord that he had been upon. Then Allah, Exalted is He, took care of him because of what had preceded from him, and accepted his repentance.'
