✧ Remembrance in the Morning and Evening

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ، ثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ عَطِيَّةَ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ؓ قَالَ: إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ

كَانَ يَدْعُو بِهَذِهِ الدَّعَوَاتِ إِذَا أَصْبَحَ وَإِذَا أَمْسَى: « اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَجْأَةِ الْخَيْرِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ فَجْأَةِ الشَّرِّ، فَإِنَّ الْعَبْدَ لَا يَدْرِي مَا يَفْجَؤُهُ إِذَا أَصْبَحَ وَإِذَا أَمْسَى

Translation

✧ He used to supplicate with these invocations when he entered the morning and when he entered the evening: 'O Allah, I ask You for sudden good, and I seek refuge with You from sudden evil, for the servant does not know what may suddenly befall him when he enters the morning and when he enters the evening.'
