✧ The Virtue of Supplication

وَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ: ثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْجَعْدِ، ثَنَا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ صُبَيْحٍ قَالَ: كَانَ الْحَسَنُ ؓ يَقُولُ:

« رُبَّمَا أَخَّرَ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لِلْعَبْدِ الدَّعْوَةَ وَيُؤْتِهَا لَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ، لَا يُحِبُّ أَنْ يَكُونَ أَصَابَهُ عَرَضٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا

Translation

  2. ʿAlī b. al-Jaʿd
  3. al-Rabīʿ b. Ṣubayḥ
  4. Kān al-Ḥasan

✧ Perhaps Allah, Mighty and Majestic, delays the supplication for a servant and gives it to him on the Day of Resurrection, not wanting that he be afflicted with some worldly gain.
