✧ Retaliation on the Day of Resurrection

وَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ: حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، ثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُدْعَانَ، عَنْ جَدَّتِهِ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ؓ قَالَتْ:

إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ بَعَثَ وَصِيفَةً لَهُ فَأَبْطَأَتْ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ ﷺ: « لَوْلَا مَخَافَةُ الْقِصَاصِ لَأَوْجَعْتُكِ بِهَذَا السِّوَاكِ

Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ sent a young servant girl of his, and she was slow in returning to him. He ﷺ said, "Were it not for fear of retaliation, I would have hurt you with this tooth-stick."
