قَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى: حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجُ بْنُ يُونُسَ، ثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ خُثَيْمِ بْنِ عِرَاكٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ؓ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ:
« مَهْلًا عَنِ اللهِ تَعَالَى مَهْلًا، لَوْلَا شَبَابٌ خُشَّعٌ، وَشُيُوخٌ رُكَّعٌ، وَأَطْفَالٌ رُضَّعٌ، وَبَهَائِمُ رُتَّعٌ، لَصُبَّ عَلَيْكُمُ الْعَذَابُ صَبًّا
