✧ Indeed, everything has an honor, and the most honorable of gatherings is that which faces the qiblah. And one is only seated with trustworthiness. Kill the snake and the scorpion even if you are in your prayer. Whoever loves to be the most honorable of people, let him fear Allah Almighty. Whoever loves to be the strongest of people, let him put his trust in Allah, Mighty and Majestic. Whoever loves to be the richest of people, let him have more confidence in what is in the hand of Allah, Blessed and Exalted, than in what is in his own hand. Shall I inform you of the worst of you? They said: Yes, O Messenger of Allah. He ﷺ said: The one who alights alone, withholds his assistance, and lashes his slave. Shall I inform you of something worse than this? They said: Yes, O Messenger of Allah. He ﷺ said: The one who hates people and they hate him. Shall I inform you of something worse than this? They said: Yes, O Messenger of Allah. He ﷺ said: The one who does not overlook a slip, does not accept an excuse, and does not forgive a sin. Shall I inform you of something worse than this? They said: Yes, O Messenger of Allah. He ﷺ said: The one from whose good no one hopes and from whose evil no one is safe. Indeed, Jesus son of Mary ﷺ stood among his people and said: O Children of Israel, do not speak wisdom in the presence of the ignorant, for you would wrong it; and do not withhold it from its people, for you would wrong them. And do not wrong, and do not repay an oppressor with oppression, lest your virtue be nullified before your Lord. O Children of Israel, matters are of three types: a matter whose right guidance is clear, so follow it; a matter whose error is clear, so avoid it; and a matter over which there is disagreement, so refer it to its knower. 3128
