✧ The times when prayer is forbidden

وَقَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو التَّيَّاحِ، عَنْ مَعْبَدٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ، قَالَ: خَطَبَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ ؓ فَقَالَ:

( أَلَا مَا بَالُ أَقْوَامٍ يُصَلُّونَ صَلَاةً قَدْ صَحِبْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ، فَمَا رَأَيْتُهُ يُصَلِّيهَا، وَقَدْ سَمِعْنَاهُ يَنْهَى عَنْهَا، يَعْنِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ

Translation

✧ Indeed, what is the matter with people who pray a prayer that I accompanied the Messenger of God ﷺ and never saw him pray, and we heard him forbid it — meaning the two rakʿahs after ʿAsr.
