✧ I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ relating about Moses (peace and blessings be upon him) on the pulpit. He said: 'It occurred in the mind of Moses (peace and blessings be upon him): Does Allah, Blessed and Exalted, sleep? So Allah, Mighty and Majestic, sent an angel to him, and kept him awake for three nights. Then He gave him two glass bottles, in each hand a bottle, and commanded him to keep them safe.' He said: 'So he began to doze, and his hands were about to meet, then he would wake up and hold one back from the other, until he slept a sleep and his hands struck together, and the two bottles broke.' He said: 'So Allah, Exalted, struck for him a parable: If Allah, Mighty and Majestic, were to sleep, the heavens and the earth would not remain firm.'
