✧ I pledge allegiance to you on the condition that you do not associate anything with Allah, do not steal, do not commit adultery, and do not kill the soul that Allah has forbidden except with right. Whoever among you commits any of this and his punishment is hastened for him, it is an expiation. Whoever is concealed, his affair is up to Allah: if He wills, He punishes him, and if He wills, He has mercy on him. Whoever does not commit any of it, I guarantee him Paradise.' This is the wording of 'Abd al-Wahid. In the narration of Hammad: 'Do you know upon what you have pledged allegiance to me?' They said: 'Allah and His Messenger know best.' He ﷺ said: 'Upon that you do not associate anything with Allah,' and the rest is similar, and he said: 'Then it is an expiation for his sin,' and he said: 'Then his reckoning is upon Allah, Mighty and Majestic.'
