أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الصَّيْرَفِيُّ بِالْبَصْرَةِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ الْجَحْدَرِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ الْحَذَّاءُ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ قَالَ

أَخَذَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَمَا أَخَذَ عَلَى النِّسَاءِ مِنَّا وَقَالَ «مَنْ أَصَابَ مِنْكُمْ مِنْهُنَّ حَدًّا فَعُجِّلَتْ لَهُ عُقُوبَتُهُ فَهُوَ كَفَّارَتُهُ وَمَنْ أُخِّرَ عَنْهُ فَأَمْرُهُ إِلَى اللَّهِ إِنْ شَاءَ رَحِمَهُ وَإِنْ شَاءَ عَذَّبَهُ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took a covenant from us as he took from the women among us, and said, "Whoever among you commits a legal offense and his punishment is hastened for him, it is an expiation for him. Whoever is delayed, his affair is up to Allah; if He wills, He will have mercy on him, and if He wills, He will punish him."
