✧ Sawda al-Yamaniyya came to visit Aisha, and Hafsa bint Umar ؓ was with her. Sawda ؓ came in a fine appearance and good condition, wearing a shift of Yemeni striped cloth, and a veil likewise, and on her were two dots like lentils of aloe and saffron on her shoes. She (Alila) said: I caught up with women beautifying themselves with it. Hafsa said to Aisha ؓ: O Mother of the Believers, the Messenger of God ﷺ will come and see us while we are shabby, and this one between us is shining. She ؓ said: Fear God, O Hafsa, fear God, O Hafsa. She said: I will ruin her adornment. She ؓ said: Do it. (She said: What do you say?) And in Sawda's ear there was heaviness (deafness). Hafsa said to her: O Sawda, the one-eyed man (Dajjal) has come out. She said: Yes! And she was terrified, and began trembling. She said: Where can I hide? She said: Go to the tent—a tent of theirs made of palm leaves in which they cooked, and in it were cooking pots and spider webs. She went and hid there. The Messenger of God ﷺ came while the two of them were laughing, unable to speak from laughter. He ﷺ said: What is this laughter? Three times. They pointed with their hands toward the tent. He ﷺ went and found Sawda trembling. He said to her: O Sawda, what is wrong with you? She said: O Messenger of God, the one-eyed man has come out. He ﷺ said: He has not come out, and he will certainly come out. He has not come out, and he will certainly come out. (He has not come out, and he will certainly come out.) Then he ﷺ entered and brought her out, and began brushing the dust and spider webs from her.
