وَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَسَّانُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْكَرْمَانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عَمْرٍو الشَّيْبَانِيِّ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ:
كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي سَفَرٍ، فَأَصَابَ بَعْضُهُمْ فَرْخَ عُصْفُورٍ، فَجَعَلَ الْعُصْفُورُ يَقَعُ عَلَى رِحَالِهِمْ، فَأَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ يُرَدَّ عَلَيْهِ فَرْخُهُ، ثُمَّ قَالَ ﷺ: لَلَّهُ أَرْحَمُ بِعَبْدِهِ مِنْ هَذَا الْعُصْفُورِ بِفَرْخِهِ

✧ We were with the Prophet ﷺ on a journey, and some of them got a sparrow chick. The sparrow began to alight on their saddles, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded that its chick be returned to it. Then he ﷺ said: 'Allah is more merciful to His servant than this sparrow is to its chick.'
