✧ We were with the Prophet ﷺ on a journey. A man approached. When the Messenger of God ﷺ saw him, he said: 'What a bad brother of the clan' or 'what a bad man.' When he came close, he made room for him in his sitting place. When he got up and left, they said: 'O Messenger of God, when you saw him you said: "What a bad brother of the clan" or "what a bad man," then you made room for him in your sitting place.' The Messenger of God ﷺ said: 'He is a hypocrite; I treat him gently to fend off his hypocrisy, and I fear he may corrupt someone else against me.'
