✧ Etiquette of Sitting and Sleeping

قَالَ الْحَارِثُ: حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ: إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ:

إِذَا دَخَلَ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى الْقَوْمِ، فَأُوسِعَ لَهُ، فَلْيَجْلِسْ، فَإِنَّمَا هِيَ كَرَامَةٌ مِنَ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَكْرَمَهُ بِهَا أَخُوهُ الْمُسْلِمُ، فَإِنْ لَمْ يُوَسَّعْ لَهُ، فَلْيَنْظُرْ أَوْسَعَهَا مَكَانًا، فَلْيَجْلِسْ فِيهِ

Translation

✧ When one of you enters upon a group of people and room is made for him, let him sit, for it is only an honor from God, Mighty and Majestic, with which his Muslim brother has honored him. If no room is made for him, let him look for the widest place and sit there.
