وَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ: حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ حُنَيْنِ بْنِ أَبِي حَكِيمٍ، عَنْ عِرَاكِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ؓ قَالَ:
جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّ فُلَانًا جَارِي يُؤْذِينِي، فَقَالَ: كُفَّ أَذَاكَ عَنْهُ وَاصْبِرْ عَلَى أَذَاهُ، فَلَمْ يَلْبَثْ إِلَّا يَسِيرًا، حَتَّى جَاءَ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ فُلَانًا جَارِي الَّذِي كَانَ يُؤْذِينِي قَدْ مَاتَ، قَالَ: فَقَالَ ﷺ: كَفَى بِالدَّهْرِ وَاعِظًا، وَكَفَى بِالْمَوْتِ مُفَرِّقًا
Translation

✧ A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, so-and-so is my neighbor and he harms me.' He said: 'Refrain from harming him and be patient with his harm.' Only a short while passed before he came and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, so-and-so, my neighbor who used to harm me, has died.' He ﷺ said: 'Time is sufficient as an admonisher, and death is sufficient as a separator.'
