✧ Greeting of peace

وَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ: حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرًا ؓ رَفَعَهُ:

« يُسَلِّمُ الرَّاكِبُ عَلَى الْمَاشِي، وَالْمَاشِي عَلَى الْقَاعِدِ، وَالْمَاشِيَانِ جَمِيعًا أَيُّهُمَا بَدَأَ بِالسَّلَامِ فَهُوَ أَفْضَلُ

Translation

✧ "The rider greets the walker, the walker greets the sitter, and when two walkers meet, whichever begins with the greeting is more virtuous."
