وَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَالِدٍ وَلَيْسَ بِالْأَحْمَرِ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ ؓ، قَالَ:
كُنَّا جُلُوسًا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ، فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ فَوَقَعَ فِيهِ رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: « تَخَلَّلْ »، فَقَالَ: مِمَّ أَتَخَلَّلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ؟ مَا أَكَلْتُ لَحْمًا فَأَتَخَلَّلَ ؟ فَقَالَ ﷺ: « بَلَى، مِنْ لَحْمِ أَخِيكَ أَكَلْتَ آنِفًا »

✧ We were sitting with the Prophet ﷺ when a man stood up, and a man after him fell upon him (backbit him). The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Pick your teeth." He said, "From what should I pick my teeth, O Messenger of Allah? I have not eaten meat that I might pick my teeth." He ﷺ said, "Indeed, you have just eaten the flesh of your brother."
