Translation

✧ I asked Umm al-Darda' ؓ: Did you hear anything from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ? She said: Yes, I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "The first thing to be placed in the Balance is good character."

  ورواه ابن عيينة عن عمرو بن دينار عن ابن أبي مليكة عن يعلى بن مملك عن أم الدرداء عن أبي الدرداء ورواه شعبة عن القاسم بن أبي بزة عن عطاء الكيخاراني عن أم الدرداء عن أبي الدرداء قال أبي كل هذا صحيح إلا حديث خلف بن حوشب فإن أم الدرداء هذه لم تسمع من النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم شيئا

  machine translationIbn ʿUyaynah narrated it from ʿAmr b. Dīnār, from Ibn Abī Mulaykah, from Yaʿlā b. Mamlak, from Umm al-Dardāʾ, from Abū al-Dardāʾ. And Shuʿbah narrated it from al-Qāsim b. Abī Bazzah, from ʿAṭāʾ al-Kaykhārānī, from Umm al-Dardāʾ, from Abū al-Dardāʾ. My father said: All of this is sound (ṣaḥīḥ), except the hadith of Khalaf b. Ḥawshab, for this Umm al-Dardāʾ did not hear anything from the Prophet ﷺ. Report a problem
