✧ Prohibition of entering a land where plague has occurred

وَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ فِي مُصَنَّفِهِ: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عُرْوَةُ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ:

إِنَّ عُمَرَ كَتَبَ إِلَى عُمَّالِهِ بِالشَّامِ: « إِذَا سَمِعْتُمْ بِالْوَبَاءِ قَدْ رُفِعَ فَاكْتُبُوا إِلَيَّ »، فَجِئْتُ وَهُوَ نَائِمٌ، وَذَاكَ بَعْدَ رُجُوعِهِ مِنْ سَرْغٍ، فَسَمِعْتُهُ لَمَّا قَامَ مِنْ نَوْمَتِهِ يَقُولُ: « اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي رُجُوعِي إِلَى هُنَا مِنْ سَرْغٍ

✧ ‘Umar wrote to his governors in Syria: “When you hear that the epidemic has been lifted, write to me.” I came while he was sleeping, and that was after his return from Sargh, and I heard him when he got up from his sleep say: “O God, forgive me for returning here from Sargh.”
