✧ The censure of bribery

وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ، ثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، ثَنَا فِطْرٌ بِهَذَا، وَلَفْظُهُ:
كُنْتُ جَالِسًا عِنْدَ عَبْدِ اللهِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ: مَا السُّحْتُ ؟ قَالَ: الرِّشَا. قَالَ: فَالْجَوْرُ فِي الْحُكْمِ ؟ قَالَ: ذَاكَ الْكُفْرُ. [ثُمَّ قَرَأَ: وَمَنْ لَمْ يَحْكُمْ بِمَا أَنْـزَلَ اللهُ فَأُولَئِكَ هُمُ الْكَافِرُونَ
Translation

✧ I was sitting with 'Abdullah, and a man asked him: What is illicit gain (suht)? He said: Bribes. He said: What about injustice in judgment? He said: That is disbelief. Then he recited: 'And whoever does not judge by what God has sent down, those are the disbelievers.'
