✧ The Virtue of Prayer

وَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ: حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، ثَنَا عِيسَى هُوَ ابْنُ الْمُخْتَارِ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ؓ قَالَ:
جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ: أَرَأَيْتَ رَجُلًا قَرَأَ أَوَّلَ اللَّيْلِ ثُمَّ سَرَقَ آخِرَهُ ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: « إِذَا قَرَأَ أَوَّلَهُ حَجَزَهُ آخِرُهُ أَنْ يَسْرِقَ بِغَلَسٍ

✧ A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'What do you think of a man who recites at the beginning of the night and then steals at its end?' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When he recites at its beginning, its end prevents him from stealing in the dark.'
