✧ The Great Status of Prayer

قَالَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ: حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سَوَّارٍ أَبُو الْعَلَاءِ، ثَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، ثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، قَالَ: إِنَّ أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَزْدِيَّ، حَدَّثَهُ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَائِذٍ، يَقُولُ:

خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي جِنَازَةِ رَجُلٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ، فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ، وَفِيهِ: فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: « يَا عُمَرُ إِنَّكَ لَا تُسْأَلُ عَنْ أَعْمَالِ النَّاسِ، وَلَكِنْ تُسْأَلُونَ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out for the funeral of a man from the Ansar, and he mentioned the hadith, in which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'O 'Umar, you will not be asked about the deeds of people, but you will be asked about prayer.'
