✧ What is feared for one who judges without right

وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى: حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مِرْدَاسٍ، ثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ ؓ، قُلْتُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

إِذَا ابْتُلِيَ أَحَدُكُمْ بِالْقَضَاءِ بَيْنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فَلَا يَقْضِي وَهُوَ غَضْبَانُ، وَلْيُسَوِّ بَيْنَهُمْ فِي الْمَجْلِسِ وَالنَّظَرِ وَالْإِشَارَةِ، وَلَا يَرْفَعُ صَوْتَهُ عَلَى أَحَدِ الْخَصْمَيْنِ فَوْقَ الْآخَرِ ".

✧ If one of you is tested with judging between the Muslims, let him not judge while angry; and let him treat them equally in the sitting place, in looking, and in gesturing; and let him not raise his voice over one of the two litigants above the other.
