✧ A man came to the prayer while the Messenger of God ﷺ was praying. When he reached the row, he said: O God, give me the best of what You give Your righteous servants. When the Messenger of God ﷺ finished, he said: Who spoke just now? The man said: I, O Messenger of God. He ﷺ said: Then your horse will be hamstrung and you will be martyred.

machine translationAl-Darāwardī narrates it from Suhayl b. Abī Ṣāliḥ, from Muḥammad b. Muslim b. ʿĀʾidh, from ʿĀmir b. Saʿd. There is disagreement about al-Darāwardī regarding it: Ibrāhīm b. Ḥamzah, Khālid b. Khidāsh, Muṣʿab al-Zubayrī and others narrated it from al-Darāwardī, from Suhayl, from Muḥammad b. Muslim b. ʿĀʾidh. But Ḍirār b. Ṣurad and al-Ḥimmānī contradicted them, and narrated it from al-Darāwardī, from Suhayl, and said: from Muslim b. ʿĀʾidh. The first statement is more correct (aṣaḥḥ).
