✧ Dissuasion from Drinking Wine

حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْقَوَارِيرِيُّ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ هُوَ أَبُو أَحْمَدَ، ثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عِيسَى رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَصْرَةِ، عَنْ أَبِي الْحَكَمِ، مَوْلَى أَبِي الْعَاصِ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَاصِ ؓ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

لَا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ وَلَدُ زِنَا، وَلَا عَاقٌّ لِوَالِدَيْهِ، وَلَا مُدْمِنُ خَمْرٍ. قِيلَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، وَمَا مُدْمِنُ الْخَمْرِ ؟ قَالَ ﷺ: ثَلَاثُ سِنِينَ، فِي كُلِّ سَنَةٍ مَرَّةً

✧ The child of adultery will not enter Paradise, nor one who is disobedient to his parents, nor one addicted to wine. It was said: 'O Messenger of God, what is one addicted to wine?' He ﷺ said: 'Three years, once in each year.'
