✧ Temporary Marriage

وَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ: حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، ثَنَا نَافِعُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ قَالَ:
إِنَّ عَائِشَةَ ؓ، كَانَتْ إِذَا سُئِلَتْ عَنِ الْمُتْعَةِ، قَالَتْ: « بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَكُمْ كِتَابُ اللهِ تَعَالَى »، قَالَ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ لِفُرُوجِهِمْ حَافِظُونَ إِلا عَلَى أَزْوَاجِهِمْ... الْآيَةَ، قَالَتْ: « فَمَنِ ابْتَغَى غَيْرَ مَا زَوَّجَهُ اللهُ تَعَالَى، أَوْ مَا مَلَّكَهُ - فَقَدْ عَدَا ».

✧ 'A'ishah ؓ, when asked about temporary marriage, would say: 'Between me and you is the Book of Allah Almighty.' Allah, Mighty and Majestic, said: 'And those who guard their private parts, except from their spouses...' the verse. She said: 'So whoever seeks other than what Allah Almighty has married him to or given him ownership of has transgressed.'
