أَخْبَرَنَا وَكِيعٌ، ثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ بُرْقَانَ، عَنْ مَيْمُونِ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ، قَالَ:

أَتَيْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ فَسَأَلْتُ عَنْ أَفْقَهِ أَهْلِهَا، فَدُفِعْتُ إِلَى سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، فَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الْمُطَلَّقَةِ ثَلَاثًا أَيْنَ تَسْتَعِدُّ ؟ فَقَالَ: فِي بَيْتِ زَوْجِهَا، قُلْتُ: « فَإِنَّ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتَ قَيْسٍ أُخْتَ الضَّحَّاكِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ طَلَّقَهَا زَوْجُهَا ثَلَاثًا، فَاعْتَدَّتْ فِي بَيْتِ ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ ». فَقَالَ: « تِلْكَ امْرَأَةٌ لَسِنَةٌ

Translation

✧ I came to Madinah and asked about the most learned of its people, and I was directed to Sa'id b. al-Musayyib. I asked him about a woman divorced three times: Where should she observe her waiting period? He said: In her husband's house. I said: But Fatimah bt. Qays, the sister of al-Dahhak b. Qays, was divorced by her husband three times, and she observed her waiting period in the house of Ibn Umm Maktum. He said: That woman was foul-tongued.
