✧ The Husband's Right Over the Woman

وَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، نَبَا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ أَبِي ظِبْيَانَ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ ؓ قَالَ:

لَمَّا قَدِمَ مُعَاذٌ ؓ مِنَ الْيَمَنِ قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ، إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ قَوْمًا يَسْجُدُ بَعْضُهُمْ لِبَعْضٍ، أَفَلَا نَسْجُدُ لَكَ ؟ قَالَ ﷺ: « لَوْ أَمَرْتُ شَيْئًا يَسْجُدُ لِشَيْءٍ لَأَمَرْتُ النِّسَاءَ يَسْجُدْنَ لِأَزْوَاجِهِنَّ

Translation

✧ When Muʿādh ؓ came from Yemen, he said: "O Messenger of God ﷺ, I saw people prostrating to one another. Should we not prostrate to you?" He ﷺ said: "If I were to command anyone to prostrate to anyone, I would command women to prostrate to their husbands."
