وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى: حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، نَبَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ يَعْلَى بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ عِيَاضِ بْنِ أَبِي أَشْرَسَ، قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ يَعْلَى بْنَ مُرَّةَ وَدَعَوْتُهُ إِلَى مَأْدُبَةٍ، قَالَ: فَقَعَدَ صَائِمًا، فَجَعَلَ النَّاسُ يَأْكُلُونَ، وَلَا يَطْعَمُ. قَالَ: فَقُلْنَا لَهُ: وَاللهِ لَوْ عَلِمْنَا أَنَّكَ صَائِمٌ مَا عَنَيْنَاكَ ! قَالَ: لَا تَقُولُوا ذَلِكَ، فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ:
« أَجِبْ أَخَاكَ، فَإِنَّكَ مِنْهُ عَلَى خَيْرٍ ; إِمَّا حَقٌّ شَهِدْتَهُ، وَإِمَّا غَيْرُهُ فَتَنْهَاهُ عَنْهُ، وَتَأْمُرُهُ بِالْخَيْرِ
