✧ When Fatimah was given to Ali, the Messenger of God ﷺ sent to Ali: 'Do not approach your wife until I come to you.' She said: The Prophet ﷺ came and called for water. He said in it what God willed him to say, then he sprinkled the water on Ali's chest and face. Then he called Fatimah, and she stood up stumbling in her garment from shyness, and he sprinkled on her as well. Then he looked and saw darkness behind the house and said: 'Who is this?' Asma said: 'I am.' He said: 'Asma bt. Umays?' She said: 'Yes.' He said: 'Did you come with the daughter of the Messenger of God as an honor to the Messenger of God?' I said: 'Yes.' He supplicated for me with a supplication that is the most deserving of my deeds to me. Then he said: 'O Fatimah, I have not failed to marry you to the most beloved of my family to me.' Then he went out and said to Ali: 'Take your wife.' Then he turned to a chamber and kept supplicating for them until he entered his chamber.
