✧ Encouragement to Marry a Woman of Religion and the Envy of One Who Has a Believing Wife

وَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ: حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ رُشَيْدٍ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي مَهْدِيٍّ، عَنْ أَبِي الزَّاهِرِيَّةِ، عَنْ كَثِيرِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ؓ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ:

« ثَلَاثٌ قَاصِمَاتُ الظَّهْرِ: فَقْرٌ دَاخِلٌ لَا يَجِدُ صَاحِبُهُ مُتَلَذَّذًا، وَزَوْجَةٌ يَأْمَنُهَا صَاحِبُهَا وَتَخُونُهُ، وَإِمَامٌ أَسْخَطَ اللهَ تَعَالَى وَأَرْضَى النَّاسَ. وَإِنَّ بِرَّ الْمُؤْمِنَةِ كَمَثَلِ سَبْعِينَ صِدِّيقَةٍ، وَإِنَّ فُجُورَ الْفَاجِرَةِ كَفُجُورِ أَلْفِ فَاجِرَةٍ

✧ Three things break the back: poverty that enters and its owner finds no enjoyment, a wife whom her husband trusts but she betrays him, and a leader who angers God Most High and pleases people. And the righteousness of a believing woman is like seventy truthful women, and the immorality of an immoral woman is like the immorality of a thousand immoral women.
